Angel Turner Dyke is 37 years old and a native Louisianan. She has been married to her husband Joel for 19 years and has 2 beautiful daughters. Angel has been actively painting as a professional artist since the late 1990's.
Her art reflects her passion for life, with a vibrant use of color. Angel spent 7 years abroad living in Mexico, where she acquired a love for explosive color. Her range of styles is quite eclectic, although her main genre are colorful New Orleans paintings. The French Quarter sights, sounds and smells seem to come to life when viewing her whimsical paintings. You can almost hear the jazz floating through the air. New Orleans is one of her favorite places on earth, where she seems to find a " sync" all her own.
The main goal and satisfaction for Angel is creating a piece of art that brings a smile to the face of the viewer. The intention of her art is to bring happiness, joy and to brighten the homes of those who own her creations. Angel's art is an extension of her philosophy on life: live, love and spread joy to those around you. Her followers all say that they are drawn to her paintings because of the cheerfulness they infuse.
Louisianan and Latin influences can be seen in her art ,as well as those of the great masters. Her form of art has been categorized as expressionist or post impressionistic. Angel also paints contemporary modern abstracts, florals, and whimsical still lifes. The common bond in all her creations are an exuberant use of extremely intense and brilliant color.
Angel began showing her art via the Internet in 2001. During the last 5 years she has created and sold over 150 works of art. Her works are in public and private collections throughout the US and internationally. Angel is also a juried member of Piney Hills Gallery in Ruston, La. She currently works out of her studio in rural Louisiana producing art that consistently increases in value.
In the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Angel has been active in working alongside of relief agencies helping her fellow Louisianans. By both volunteering and donating a portion of the proceeds from each sale, her heart has been to help as much as she can to those most deeply affected by the storms. Together we will rebuild our beautiful New Orleans.
I'd love to hear from you!
